Group Bookings
The Argyll has a long tradition of welcoming small groups and whole hotel bookings to the island; and we have considerable experience from running creative writing courses to hosting church trips and organising extended family holidays. Our success in hosting such bookings is very much underscored by the number of groups we have returning to the hotel year on year for repeated gatherings and events.
With groups of 12 or more people it is necessary to contact the office and discuss dates and requirements as soon as possible. This is particularly the case in terms of availability, since we are busy throughout the season and we quickly book up over the school holidays and the peak season of July and August. That said, we are more than happy to help you find available dates as well as suggest external accommodation if your group cannot all fit within the hotel.
The layout of the hotel allows for some 26 people to be accommodated in 6 singles, 7 doubles, 2 twins and the twin bedded Suite. We also have a private lounge that can be used for meetings and study, and in terms of meals and billing arrangements we are more than flexible depending on the needs and budget of your group.
Due to the added complexity of group bookings there is also a different deposit system, as well particular rates for the private and exclusive use of the hotel's facilities.

Functions and Events
Without doubt Iona is an amazing venue for events such as weddings, reunions and birthday celebrations. Naturally this is because of the location and the scenic beauty of the island, but also it is because the remoteness of Iona ensures that people gather for more than just one evening or afternoon. Participants and guests tend to stay for a couple of nights, and the event is thereby encompassed within a relaxed group gathering that allows people the time to catch up and see each other properly; trips to Staffa, leisurely walks and playing on beach all combine with the special occasion to provide a unique and wonderful time.
In organising such events, we take your wishes and budget as the guiding principles and then we strive to make the event run as smoothly as possible. We will help you through the process of deciding venues, accommodations and meals, as well as suggest potential itineraries and activities for your guests whilst they stay. This is very much a bespoke service that aims to ensure that your celebration is tailor-made to your own requirements and needs. Above all we want you and your guests to enjoy the occasion and savour the comforts of genuine hospitality and island life.
In terms of basic guidelines, the hotel can accommodate 26 people and can seat around 45 people in the dining room.
